Second Symposium of the Organ and Tissue Neogenesis Consortium held
On Monday, July 29, 2019, the Second Symposium of the Organ and Tissue Neogenesis Consortium, “From Regeneration to Neogenesis: The Forefront of Neogenetic Medicine”, was held at Akio Suzuki Memorial Hall in M&D Tower, Tokyo Medical and Dental University. The Organ and Tissue Neogenesis Consortium was newly established in September 2017 at the Integrated Research Institute as an international research center intended to facilitate regenerative medical research, which is one of the features of the university. In the symposium, in addition to an introduction of the consortium’s activities, Professor Emi K. Nishimura and Professor Takanori Takebe, who published their research findings in international scientific journals in April and May this year, gave lectures as representatives of the consortium, addressing the students and staff of the university, company officials, researchers affiliated with other research institutions, and others interested in neogenetic medicine. Furthermore, we received an encouraging video message welcoming the opening of the symposium from Dr. Hans Clevers (Hubrecht Institute), executive advisor of the Organ and Tissue Neogenesis Consortium.
As the Organ and Tissue Neogenesis Consortium will continue to work in collaboration with government, private enterprise, and research institutions to open new horizons for regenerative medicine, we hope for your continued support.
