Chulalongkorn University (CU) Delegation Visits TMDU
On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, eleven professors, medical technologists, and administrative staff from Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, visited Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) to tour laboratories and discuss future collaboration.
During the observation of laboratories in the Department of Rheumatology, Prof. Yasuda (TMDU), department director, and Jr. Assoc. Prof. Saitou (TMDU) introduced medical equipment and explained their function. Through the tour, which included a question and answer session, new discoveries about both universities were revealed, such as the fact that the TMDU Department of Rheumatology equipment and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, CU are very similar. In the small round-table discussion after the tour, the atmosphere was friendly and participants exchanged information regarding the situation under COVID-19 in their countries.
In the meeting that followed, moderated by Prof. Ohkawa, Department of Analytical Laboratory Chemistry (TMDU), five professors from TMDU including Prof. Sumi, Director of Health Care Sciences attended. At the discussion, both universities had an active exchange of opinions to explore further possibilities for collaboration, such as human resource development and joint research.
