Clinica Las Condes and Tokyo Medical and Dental University donated a complete Unit to Felix Bulnes Hospital
Clinica Las Condes and Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), the most prestigious one in Japan, fitted out a new Observation and Monitoring Room in the Felix Bulnes Hospital on Tuesday, 17th of August. This Room is for children waiting to be hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
This way, the Chilean and Japanese entities helped the Health Service, which suffered extensive structural damage because of the earthquake on February, 27th.
Opening this unit will be a great help in the treatment of more than 800 children suffering from respiratory diseases each year, especially during the winter season, since around the 70% of the pediatric treatments in this Hospital are because of respiratory diseases.
‘For our Hospital is quite important to receive all these high standard equipments, since with them, we may give a better service to our pediatric patients and assure an opportune answer to their requests’ said Dr. Ignacio Abusleme, Deputy Director of Outpatients Unit in Felix Bulnes Hospital.
This new Room will benefit two children per day, considering a patient relocation of 24 hrs into the Hospitalization Area in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Felix Bulnes Hospital or another Public Health Service.
On the other hand, Mr. Gonzalo Grebe, CEO in Clinica Las Condes said that with these equipments purchase, we may help one of the hospitals that most suffered the consequences of the earthquake in February and help a population quite sensitive to suffer from the winter diseases.
Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and Clinica Las Condes are working in a great project focused on the early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.
Besides, both entities intend to create a national network that generates inquiry projects about colorectal cancer at a regional level. A few days ago LACRC (Latin American Collaborative Research Centre) was officially opened in Clinica Las Condes.
