2025/10/03 Session at the Science Tokyo–RWTH Workshop(Kyohei Okubo)

On October 3, 2025, we welcomed 13 researchers from RWTH Aachen University, specializing in a wide range of fields including robotics and medical sciences, to the Yushima Campus of Science Tokyo, where a joint workshop was held.
Associate Professor Kyohei Okubo from our department led a presentation session and a lab tour.

2025/09/02 Lecture at Mahidol University (Masanao Inokoshi)

On September 2, 2025, Prof. Masanao Inokoshi gave a lecture at Mahidol University (Thailand). The title of the presentation was “Innovations in Dental Materials: A Research and Clinical Perspectives on Ceramic Restorations.”

Prof. Masanao Inokoshi attended the 29th Asian Academy of Prosthodontics Executive Council Meeting, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 1, 2025, as the representative of the Japan Prosthodontic Society.

Yang Menghui, a graduate student in our department, and Qin Ziyang, who is being supervised by Dr. Inokoshi, have been selected for the Science Tokyo SPRING (MD) program.
This prestigious program provides recipients with research funding and a living allowance, with a highly competitive acceptance rate of just 30.0%.

Presented at the 2025 IADR/PER General Session & Exhibition (June 25–28, 2025)

Masanao Inokoshi delivered an oral presentation entitled “Reliability of surface-treated speed-sintered yttria-stabilized dental zirconia” at the 2025 IADR/PER General Session & Exhibition held from June 25 to 28, 2025. He also served as a session chair during the meeting.
In addition, graduate students specializing in the Department of Gerodontology and Oral Rehabilitation under his supervision—Ms. Akiho Sunami, Mr. Bohua Wang, and Ms. Risa Iwase—presented posters at the same conference.

Received the Best Reviewer Award from the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices!

At the 83rd Annual Academic Meeting of the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices (JSDMD), Professor Masanao Inokoshi received the Best Reviewer Award. This award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the editing and publication of the official journal of the JSDMD.

Professor Masanao Inokoshi participated in the 83rd General Session of the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices (JSDMD) together with Dr. Kerstin Rabel from the University of Freiburg and Drs. Okkar Kyaw, a graduate student from the Department of Gerodontology and Oral Rehabilitation. Drs. Kyaw gave an oral presentation at the meeting.
Dr. Kerstin Rabel and Dr. Jörg Lüchtenborg from the University of Freiburg have visited Japan and our Oral Science Center.

We are pleased to announce that our Department has been selected for a bilateral exchange program and will conduct a two-year joint research project with the University of Freiburg in Germany.
As part of our research collaboration, Dr. Kerstin Rabel and Dr. Jörg Lüchtenborg from the University of Freiburg have visited Japan and our Oral Science Center to discuss and coordinate the research activities. We look forward to a fruitful and productive partnership over the coming two years.
