Essential Expertise for Clinical Dentistry 3 (EECD3) Report (first week)
The session,“How can we eliminate periodontal pockets?”using pig jaws, gave the participants an opportunity to learn and practice SRP, incision, partial-thickness flap elevation, debridement, osteoplasty and suturing techniques required in apically repositioned flap with osseous surgery under the assumed clinical situation: deep periodontal pockets in the lower molars. This session was performed with a great and courteous facilitation by Assistant Professor Koji MIZUTANI (Department of Periodontology), with 3 more instructors; Dr. Shogo MAEKAWA, Dr. Mizuki NAGATA, and Dr. Kosei YANO.
