Automobile and Bicycle Insurance

If you plan to drive a car or ride a motorcycle, be sure to purchase an automobile insurance policy, since you could be liable to pay a very large amount of compensation to victims of traffic accidents that you cause. Even if you drive just during a summer vacation trip or other short-term occasion, we strongly recommend that you buy insurance. Automobile policies can be purchased from a casualty insurance company or the Tokyo Medical and Dental University Co-op.
Students who ride a bicycle are strongly recommended to obtain an insurance policy that cover injuries that you cause to others while riding. A Bicycle policy can be purchased from a casualty insurance company or the Tokyo Medical and Dental University Co-op.
Also, if you buy Comprehensive Renter’s Insurance for Foreign Students Studying in Japan, your coverage may include certain cases of personal injury accidents. For further details, consult with the Foreign Student Support Unit, Student Support Section (Building 5,3rd floor).
