RWTH Aachen University Rector and Delegation Visit TMDU

RWTH Aachen University Rector and Delegation Visit TMDU

On Wednesday, 7th February 2024, Rector Rüdiger and 8 others from the German public research facility, Aachen University (RWTH), visited Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) to discuss “Future International Collaboration” and “Medical-Engineering Collaborative Education” with TMDU faculty members.
As Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech)'s ANNEX facility is located at RWTH, Tokyo Tech, and RWTH have a close relationship in terms of researcher and student exchange. This visit to TMDU was made possible as the RWTH delegation that recently visited Tokyo Tech made a request to also visit our campus.
The meeting began with opening remarks from President Tanaka (TMDU) and Rector Rüdiger (RWTH) followed by overviews of both universities. After this, lively discussions took place regarding future medical-engineering collaboration and the possibility of student exchange.
Afterward, TMDU gave a tour of our University Hospital, and the Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering at the request of five of the RWTH faculty members.
This visit was a good opportunity to deepen understanding between the two universities, and we look forward to further interactions in the future.
