Notice on Influenza

The flu is going around.
There is an increasing number of visitors to the Health Administration Center this week, who have taken the rapid antigen test and tested positive for the flu.
Make sure to wash your hands, gargle, wear a mask and get enough sleep and nutrition in order to prevent infection.

At the Health Administration Center, you can take the rapid antigen test.
Although we cannot administer any anti-influenza drugs, if you have symptoms and wish to take the test, please visit us within visiting hours.

Change of Doctor’s Health Consultation Hours

We will change the hours of the doctor’s health consultation as indicated below from Monday, January 6, 2014.
Based on the results of the survey conducted in September, we have extended the examination hours.
The table below shows the basic schedule. Sometimes these sessions close due to medical checkups or absence of a doctor.
Please check This Week’s Health Consultation Schedule for details.
A nurse will be in service during hours other than the doctor’s health consultation.

Establishment of Student Medical Checkup Rules

Establishment of Student Medical Checkup Rules

As of October 1, 2013, Student Medical Checkup Rules of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University were established.

Student medical checkups must be taken by every student as they are made mandatory under the School Health Law and the Student Medical Checkup Rules of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

If you take the checkup, a health certificate will be issued which is required for training in the hospital, for job hunting, and filing of scholarships, etc.

Further information on each medical checkup will be posted on the campus bulletin board, Health Administration Center website, university emails, and other means about a month in advance, so please make sure not to miss it.

Opening of Health Consultation Service Specialized in “Prolonged Coughs and Bronchial Asthma”

The Center opened a health consultation service specialized in “prolonged coughs and bronchial asthma” (Reservation required:1:00PM - 3:00PM) in the afternoon on the second Friday of each month by a respiratory specialist for students and employees suffering:
● Prolonged coughing;
● Recent occasional Asthma symptoms although child Asthma was overcome in order to detect cough variant asthma and bronchial asthma at an early stage.

Consultation is provided free of charge. Call extension 5081 if you wish to make a reservation for the health consultation service.

Opening of Health Consultation Service Specialized in “Snoring and Apnea”

The Center opened a health consultation service specialized in “snoring and apnea” (Reservation required:1:00PM - 3:00PM) in the afternoon on the first Friday of each month, which conducts OSAS screening test for students and employees suffering:
● Excessive daytime sleepiness
● Snoring
● Apnea
● Waking up at night for bathroom (it could be an OSAS symptom)
in order to detect sleep apnea syndrome at an early stage.

Both consultation and screening tests are provided free of charge. Call extension 5081 if you wish to make a reservation for the health consultation service.
