Identification and functions of organellar zones created by membrane lipids

Research abstract

In eukaryotic cells, intracellular organelles are supposed to have various functional domains (“zones”). Phospholipids and sterols should contribute to the formation and the specific functions of the zones. In this project, we identify new organellar zones, analyze the components of the zones, clarify the molecular mechanisms underlying the formation of the zones, and investigate the cellular functions of the zones.
