1. 適用範囲

本プライバシーポリシーは、本アプリの利用に伴い取得・利用される情報の取扱いを定めます。
本アプリは、臨床研究の一環として、Apple Watch 由来の生体データ等を iPhone の HealthKit（ヘルスケア/ヘルスアプリ）を通じて収集し、治療関連の有害事象や病状悪化等の体調変化を早期に検知できるかを検討する目的で用いられます。
本アプリは診断・治療の指示を行うものではありません。

2. 取得する情報

当研究機関は、研究目的および運用上必要な範囲で、以下の情報を取得します。

2.1 HealthKit 等から取得するデータ（利用者の許可に基づく）

利用者が OS（iOS）上の許可画面で許可した場合、以下の例を含む Apple Watch 由来データを取得することがあります（許可された範囲に限定されます）。

  • 心拍数
  • 心拍変動
  • 活動量（歩数等）
  • 睡眠
  • 皮膚温
  • 酸素飽和度（SpO2）
  • その他、研究で必要と定めた HealthKit データ

※本アプリは、許可されたデータのみを取得し、目的外のアクセスは行いません。
※【設計に合わせて記載】本アプリは HealthKit への書き込み（write）は行わず、取得（read）のみを行います／行う場合は対象と目的を明記します。

2.2 研究運用上の情報

  • 研究参加登録・照合・問い合わせ対応等に必要な情報（例：研究ID、連絡用情報）
  • アプリの動作確認・障害対応に必要な最小限のログ情報（例：クラッシュログ、エラーログ）
    • ※ログに個人を直接特定する情報を含めない運用を原則とします。

3. 利用目的

取得した情報は、以下の目的で利用します。

  1. Apple Watch 由来データ等を解析し、有害事象や病状悪化等の体調変化を早期に検知できる可能性を検討すること（研究）
  2. 研究の品質管理（データ整合性確認、解析手法の評価等）
  3. 研究結果の公表（学会・論文等。ただし個人が特定される情報は含めません）
  4. 利用者からの問い合わせ対応、同意撤回等の手続対応

4. 第三者提供・委託

4.1 第三者提供

当研究機関は、法令に基づく場合等を除き、取得情報を研究目的に反して第三者へ提供しません。
また、健康・医療関連データを広告・マーケティング目的で利用したり、当該目的で第三者へ提供したりしません。

4.2 業務委託

研究運営上、サーバ運用、解析基盤運用、保守等を外部事業者へ委託する場合があります。
この場合、委託先に対し、当研究機関と同等以上の安全管理措置および守秘義務を契約等で義務付け、適切に監督します。

5. 安全管理措置（匿名化・アクセス制限・暗号化等）

当研究機関は、取得情報を適切に保護するため、以下の安全管理措置を講じます（研究・実装に応じて運用）。

  • 研究データのを加工して個人情報が分からない加工（仮名加工化）
  • アクセス制限（権限管理、最小権限、アクセスログ）
  • 通信の暗号化（TLS 等）
  • 保存時暗号化（必要に応じて）
  • 端末・アカウントの管理（パスコード等）

6. 保存期間・削除

  • 研究データは、研究計画および関係規程に従い、研究終了後も一定期間保管した後、適切な方法で廃棄します。
  • 利用者が同意撤回や削除希望を申し出た場合、以後の利用を停止し、可能な範囲で削除等の措置を行います。
    • ただし、すでに集計・解析・公表等で個人が特定できない形に加工されたデータは、取り下げできない場合があります。

7. 利用者の権利（同意撤回・許可取消）

  • 本アプリを用いる研究参加は任意です。参加しないことによる不利益はありません。
  • 利用者は、研究参加の同意撤回をいつでも申し出ることができます。
  • HealthKit のデータ取得許可は、iOS の設定からいつでも取り消すことができます。

8. 未成年

【原則】本研究の対象は 18 歳以上とします。
【例外がある場合】未成年を含む場合は、保護者同意等の手続を本項に明記してください。

9. 変更

当研究機関は、法令改正や研究運用変更等に応じて本ポリシーを改定する場合があります。重要な変更はアプリ内または研究サイト等で周知します。

1. Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy defines how information obtained and used through the App is handled.
The App collects biometric data from Apple Watch via iPhone’s HealthKit (Health app) as part of clinical research to investigate whether treatment-related adverse events or deterioration of medical conditions can be detected early.
The App does not provide diagnostic or treatment instructions.

2. Information We Collect

The Research Institution collects the following information to the extent necessary for research purposes and operational requirements.

2.1 Data Obtained from HealthKit (Based on User Permission)

When users grant permission on the iOS permission screen, the App may collect Apple Watch-derived data including, but not limited to, the following (limited to permitted scope):

  • Heart Rate
  • Heart Rate Variability
  • Activity (Step Count, etc.)
  • Sleep
  • Skin Temperature
  • Oxygen Saturation (SpO2)
  • Other HealthKit data deemed necessary for research

※The App only accesses permitted data and does not access data beyond the granted permissions.
※[Depending on design] The App only reads from HealthKit and does not write to it / If writing is performed, specify the targets and purposes.

2.2 Research Operational Information

  • Information necessary for research participation registration, verification, and inquiry responses (e.g., Research ID, contact information)
  • Minimal log information necessary for app operation verification and troubleshooting (e.g., crash logs, error logs)
    • ※As a general principle, logs do not contain personally identifiable information.

3. Purpose of Use

The collected information will be used for the following purposes:

  1. To analyze Apple Watch-derived data to investigate the possibility of early detection of adverse events or deterioration of medical conditions (research)
  2. Research quality control (data consistency verification, analysis method evaluation, etc.)
  3. Publication of research results (conferences, papers, etc., without personally identifiable information)
  4. Responding to user inquiries, withdrawal of consent, and related procedures

4. Third-Party Provision and Outsourcing

4.1 Third-Party Provision

The Research Institution will not provide collected information to third parties contrary to research purposes, except as required by law.
Health and medical-related data will not be used for advertising or marketing purposes, nor will it be provided to third parties for such purposes.

4.2 Business Outsourcing

In the course of research operations, server management, analysis infrastructure operation, maintenance, etc., may be outsourced to external vendors.
In such cases, contractors will be contractually obligated to implement security measures and confidentiality obligations equivalent to or greater than those of the Research Institution, and will be properly supervised.

5. Security Measures (Anonymization, Access Control, Encryption, etc.)

The Research Institution implements the following security measures to properly protect collected information (operated according to research and implementation):

  • Pseudonymization of research data to prevent identification of individuals
  • Access control (permission management, minimum privileges, access logs)
  • Communication encryption (TLS, etc.)
  • Encryption at rest (as needed)
  • Device and account management (passcodes, etc.)

6. Retention Period and Deletion

  • Research data will be retained for a certain period after research completion in accordance with the research plan and related regulations, then properly disposed of.
  • If a user requests withdrawal of consent or deletion, further use will be stopped and deletion or other appropriate measures will be taken to the extent possible.
    • However, data that has already been aggregated, analyzed, or published in a form where individuals cannot be identified may not be retrievable.
  • Participation in research using this App is voluntary. There are no disadvantages to not participating.
  • Users can request withdrawal of research participation consent at any time.
  • Permission to access HealthKit data can be revoked at any time from iOS settings.

8. Minors

[General Principle] The target population for this research is individuals aged 18 and above.

9. Changes

The Research Institution may revise this policy in response to legal amendments or changes in research operations. Significant changes will be announced within the App or on the research website.
