Held a web seminar on collaboration between the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medicine and Engineering HUB Organization

Research Center for Biomedical Engineering (RCBE)hold a WEB seminar with Tokyo Medical-Engineering-Collaboration HUB Organization on June 19 (Friday), 2020. as an activity of RCBI to proceed practical applications and the corporate collaborations.

RCBE have used the medical exhibition, Medtec Japan, at Tokyo Big Sight every year. However, the event has been postponed due to COVID-19, we start the web seminar from this year as a tool for to publicize the achievements of RCBE to society without gathering people.

This seminar was held with the intention of providing occasions of collaborative research with companies for young researchers belong to RCBE. After the introduction from Prof. Kagechika, Associate Professor Taishi Yokoi in the field of inorganic biomaterials presented "Creation of ceramics biomaterials to support hard tissue repair". Then, Dr. Toshihiro Kawase, bio-information field, explained "Medical device that makes good use of human and robot skills". Finally, Dr. Kohei Tsuji of Medicinal Chemistry Field gave us "Drug discovery of anti-HIV agents and anti-cancer agents based on the control of intracellular phosphorylation signaling research.

Chat function of Zoom was used for questions and answers. Since the question text can be entered during the lecture, the question and answer session seems to become more active and accurate than a conventional lecture.

We are planning to expand the target audience nationwide next time by collaborating with the Japan Medical Engineering Monozukuri Commons.
