Meeting in Okinawa held in February, 2011

JSPS A3 Foresight Program 2011 Meeting
-Epigenetic Signatures in Gastric Carcinogenesis-

Date February 20-23, 2011
Venue ANA Intercontinental Hotel Manza Beach Resort

Summary

JSPS A3 Foresight Program 2011 Seminar was held on February 20-23, 2011 at ANA Intercontinental Hotel Manza Beach Resort, Okinawa, Japan. This meeting highlighted epigenetic signatures in gastric carcinogenesis via molecular and epidemiological analysis. A total of 18 scientists (13 senior and 5 junior) from three nations attended this seminar. On the first day, there were presentations on how the research on human materials was regulated by the Institutional Review Board in each country, and an enthusiastic discussion was made on how to propel collaborative work in each research group. On the next day, some recent findings in three countries were presented and discussed. During this seminar, several new collaborative research plans were proposed, and most were strongly supported by participants. Thus we hope that new results will be obtained soon by collaboration of researchers in three nations.
