Practical training of ion sensor for young researchers

As part of our base activities, we are developing young researchers in interdisciplinary of medical and engineering. The experiment on the ion-sensitive field effect transistors has been held in every year. The seminar was held at the Biomaterial Engineering Laboratory, Tokyo Medical and Dental University from Monday 20th (Monday) to Thursday 23rd (Thursday) this year.

The number of participants was the largest ever with 8 people, joining from Waseda University, Nagoya University, Tohoku University, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and Osaka Prefecture University. In the seminar, the lecture on the operation principle of ion sensitive field effect transistor, preparing the Na+ or Ca2+ ion selective polymer ion sensitive membrane, potential measurements by Ag / AgCl electrode, data analysis and evaluation of cytotoxicity were taught by the staffs of the center.

At this center, Hiroshima University conducts similar practical training. We will continue to develop young generations who will be pioneers in biomedicine engineering.
