Initiatives for Attractive Education in Graduate Schools
Educational Program for Opinion Leaders in the Fields of Medicine and DentistryProgram member: Professor Ikuo MoritaThe "Initiatives for Attractive Education in Graduate Schools" program is the financial support by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan on selected outstanding educational program for Ph.D. course students. Current problems in education of medical and dental graduate schools are as follows: 1) the research in the medical fields has been subdivided into numerous pieces; 2) graduate school programs for clinical course deviate heavily to basic research; 3) canonical programs for Master courses in the faculties of medicine and dentistry have not been established; 4) any graduate students do not have chances to learn medical administration and economics or global medical issues. This situation has resulted in the shortage of opinion leaders in those fields. Our program aims to train the students selected by the specialized committee as such leaders in Japan. |
