[Research activities] [Objective-1] elucidation of molecular mechanisms in pathology and onset of the diseases leading to loss of tooth and bone, [Objective-2] promotion of basic studies for diagnosis and treatment for advanced reconstruction of tooth and bone, and [Objective-3] promotion of integrated functional genomic study for tooth and bone diseases. This center will create integrated science (Dento-Medomix) of above three items as well as providing top science information as an “international research hub”. In particular, five departments, namely, Dental School, Medical School, Medical Research Institute, Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering and School of Biomedical Science will collaborate laterally to develop further individual advanced studies and promote the advanced research as described above. [Human resource cultivation] The concept for human resource cultivation is to cultivate young researchers who will work globally in tooth and bone-related areas at this center as the world's highest level graduate school.
