Medical Top Track (MTT) Fellow Position
Medical Research Institute invites applications from outstanding scientists for Medical Top Track (MTT)* Fellow Position (integrated action initiative for MTT tenure track positions) at any academic rank and tenure status. Rank and MTT tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The term will be for 4.5 years with evaluation after approximately 3.5 years to be qualified for Faculty position in our institute.
We seek candidates with strong research records, commitments to developing independent, innovative, funded research programs, and concerned interests in graduate and medical education.
Tokyo Medical and Dental University ranks in the top 7 Japanese institutions in research funding per person and offers an exceptionally interactive environment. Many multi-disciplinary research programs including two 21st Century Center of Excellence Programs and an interdepartmental graduate program in Medical Science and Molecular Biology facilitate collaborations among the basic science disciplines and between basic science and clinical faculty. We are interested in applicants with expertise in new research areas not currently represented in our institute, as well as applicants who enrich areas of existing strength. Candidates in the following areas are invited to apply:
Advanced Molecular Medicine - Current research strengths include mechanisms of signaling, genetics, gene regulation and molecular medicine.
Molecular Pathophysiology - Current research strengths include analyses of molecular targets in intractable diseases. Candidates with special interest in molecular bases of pathophysiology are particularly encouraged to apply.
Genome Medicine - Current research strengths include genome-wide medicine. Candidates with special expertise in genome-based biomedical science are particularly encouraged to apply.
*Medical Top Track (MTT) program is supported by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in conjunction with JST based on their new program entitles, "Promotion of Environmental Improvement for Independence of Young Researchers".
Review of applicants begins immediately and interviews will continue until positions are filled. Anticipated starting dates are flexible within a period between October and December 2006.
