Abstract
An immature diphyllobothriid cestode with a scolex was expelled by Gastrografin administration from a 29-year-old man residing in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The strobila was identified as Diplogonoporus grandis based on the morphological characterostics. The source of infection was estimated to be raw sardine ingested during his stay in the mainland of Japan. This is the first case of diplogonoporiasis in Okinawa Prefecture.
