Held 4th WEB Seminar with Tokyo Metropolitan Government

Research Center for Biomedical Engineering (RCBE)has begun a series of web-based medical-engineering seminars with Tokyo Metropolitan Government in order to put the research results to practical use and deepen collaboration with companies. The seminar participants are about 700 manufacturers and distributors of medical devices in Tokyo.

This time, lecturers are two young researchers from the Research Institute for Nanodevice and Bio Systems (RNBS) of Hiroshima University. The number of WEB participants on the day was 45 (12 manufacturing and sales companies, 10 manufacturing companies, 2 hospitals, 8 research institutes, 1 other, 12 people involved).

In the introduction by Director Mimura, an overview of the Research Institute of Electronics and three speakers were introduced. In the research introduction, Assistant Professor Keita Yasutomi gave "Time-resolved imaging using high-speed lock-in pixel technology - Introduction of high-range resolution Time of-Flight distance imaging - ", and Associate Professor Masatsugu Niwayama gave "Hemodynamic measurement of various biological tissues in near infra-red light". And "Development and application of Terra-hertz spectroscopic light source" was given by Professor Tetsuro Sasaki. Finally, closing remarks were given by Prof. Kazuo Tanishita, President of Japan Medical Engineering Manufacturing Commons.

Zoom chat-function was used for the question and answer. Question were typed in chat-box during the lecture, Q and A session was more lively and accurate than the conventional lectures.

The WEB seminar is scheduled to continue next year in collaboration with Tokyo.
