RCBI hold a Medical-Engineering Collaboration Seminar with Tokyo Medical-Engineering-Collaboration HUB Organization

RCBI hold the Medical-Engineering collaboration seminar with Tokyo Medical-Engineering-Collaboration HUB Organization on January 22 (Tuesday), 2019 as an activity of RCBI to proceed practical applications and the corporate collaborations.

The members of HUB organization are consisted of about 700 companies of manufacture and sell medical equipment in Tokyo, and the venue was filled with about 50 participants. For this seminar, we selected the young researchers at IBB of TMDU to provide them a new collaborative research project and a place for practical use of the research results.

As an opening, the activities of TMDU and RCBI were introduced by Professor Miyahara, Director of IBB. Next, Dr. Tetsuro Miyazaki, Assistant Professor of IBB, gave the lecture titled "Introduction of research in the field of biomechanics - Case of development on surgical device, power assist suit-". The medical problems were shown concretely and it was easy to understand for the participants. In the field of bioelectronics, Assistant Professor Miyuki Tabata reported "Micro pH sensor supporting dental caries diagnosis", and showed the new sensor for measuring the degree of dental caries using an Ir / IrOx electrode. From the field of material-based medical engineering, Assistant Professor Yoshihide Hashimoto gave a lecture as "Decellularized tissue as a platform for regenerative tissue and its relating techniques”. The technology around the regenerative tissue were well explained from fundamentals to global business situations.

After the lectures, we interacted actively with manufacturers and sales makers during the business card exchanging section. All lectures contained the conscious of corporate collaboration as a whole, they gave an impact for the audience, and ended successfully. We will continue to collaborate with Tokyo Medical-Engineering-Collaboration HUB Organization.
