Research Theme

  1. Bio-functional surface modification of metals
    With surface modification techniques including bio-functional molecule coating and electro-chemical treatment, bio-functional modification of stent surface is carried out.
  2. Development of metal/biomedical polymer hybridizing techniques
    Chemically bonded metal/biomedical polymer hybrid materials for artificial organs are developed.
  3. Development of novel biomedical alloys
    Aiming to orthopedic applications, alloy design and evaluation of new biomedical alloys with biological and mechanical safety are conducted.
  4. Dental applications of new metallic biomaterials
    Mechanical properties of newly developed dental materials are evaluated. Super-elastic orthodontic wires, prosthodontic appliances and root canal files are developed.
