NRF A3 Foresight Program Seminar - IGCC 2011
-Epigenetic Signatures in Gastric Carcinogenesis-

Date April 20-24, 2011
Venue Coex Convention Center

Summary

The A3 Foresight Program 2011 Seminar was held together with the 9th International Gastric Cancer Congress (IGCC) on April 20-23, 2011, at Coex Convention Center, Seoul, Korea. Approximately 2,000 participants from around the world (54 countries) attended in IGCC 2011. A total of 34 scientists (14 senior and 20 junior) in the A3 Foresight Program from 3 nations also attended in this congress. Dr. Woo Ho Kim, the principal investigator of NRF A3 Foresight Program, and Dr. Han-Kwang Yang, a member of NRF A3 Foresight Program, served as a vice president and the scientific program chair of IGCC 2011, respectively. Four senior scientists talked as invited speakers in educational sessions, a symposium and a workshop in this congress. Eight senior scientists from 3 nations also talked their current findings by oral presentation in the A3 Foresight Program sessions. There are 757 poster presentations in IGCC 2011 and 20 young scientists from A3 Foresight Program participated in this poster session. It is noteworthy that Dr. Hyang Sook Seol (Korea) and Dr. Sohachi Nanjo (Japan) won the Best Poster Award in this session. A lot of scientists in IGCC 2011 attended our oral and poster presentations in A3 foresight Program. It was a very good chance for us to talk and discuss about our current researches in an international meeting. Among 3 nations, we discussed about collaborative researches in the business meeting, which was held on April 22. Thus, these A3 seminar and IGCC 2011 in Korea were very fruitful for both junior and senior scientists to promote their researches further.
