2019 Fall Special Preparatory Intensive Japanese Course (KENSHU)

Intensive Japanese Language Course is a fifteen-week program for research students who have been recommended by the Japanese embassy of their home countries or students who have NEVER studied Japanese before.This course emphasizes ACTIVE command of Japanese, not passive knowledge. Your goal is NOT simply to acquire the grammar and vocabulary, but the ability to use Japanese appropriately and with spontaneity. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed also on developing accuracy and fluency. Thus, at the end of the course, you will:
1. Have appropriate communication skills in both spoken and written Japanese,
2. Understand the basic structure of the Japanese language, and
3. Have basic understanding of Japanese culture.
In addition to studying Japanese in the classroom, KENSHU course students will visit a local primary school, museums and other cultural spots in Tokyo and go on a study-tour to the outside of Tokyo to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.
