What is Dental Technology?

It is our fundamental pleasure of eating tasty food and enjoying speech communication by maintaining good oral health, and it is very important for maintenance of our bodily health. Moreover, teeth arrangement and color may cause to influence his or her personal character and social activity. In this sense, dentistry is closely related with our health of mind and body.

Patients complaints such as no good mastication , tooth caries be removed or no good appearance can be satisfied not only by these disease treatments but also by recovery of true teeth functions and esthetic appearance. Since treatments cannot be said to be completed unless patients are satisfied, the role of a dental technician is important in producing such a satisfactory dental product, and treatment results are dependent on this skill. Tooth forms and colors, or mouth shapes are different to one another. And highly advanced training as a dental technician is needed in order to restore esthetic and natural tooth colors and to complete a well-fitted denture with good function.

The qualification of a dental technician can be obtained by completing subjects specified at a dental technicians school or a training place and then passing through the dental technician examination. Our school is located in the Yushima campus of TMDU, and we are proud of the full-time staff and the instructors from TMDU dental department as well as world-class training facilities. Moreover, the clinical practices performed by the second grade students, they take charge of laboratory works on the patient cases from the attached hospital and they experience practical dental care spots. A large number of talented technicians have been produced so far and our school is contributing to dentistry and education.
