授業の目的、概要等  
In this course we will be reading "Would You Kill The Fat Man?". Through reading the book, students will be introduced to philosophical arguments and will learn how to engage in philosophy. The course has three aims: 1) to understand philosophical/ethical issues relating the Trolley Problem 2) to acquire 'active-reading' skills in philosophical readings, and 3) to engage in discussions in English.

Through this course, students will be able to
1) understand philosophical/ethical issues relating to the Trolley Problem and explain them in their own words.
2) acquire active-reading skills in english.
3) express their ideas/thoughts and participate in discussions in english.
授業方法  
The class consists of a brief lecture on an assigned reading material and classroom discussion.

・Submission of an ‘in-class’ question sheet counts as attendance in this course (instead of the University's Attendance Management System).
