授業の目的、概要等
Do you keep up with the news? What's happening these days in Japan and around the world? More importantly, why are these events happenings? How might they affect you and other people in the future? What's your opinion about them?

It's essential to know what's going on in the world around you in order to have intelligent conversations with others and be a responsible citizen. However, understanding the news is not easy, particularly when it is in a foreign language. In this course, students will improve their understanding of current events and develop both their critical thinking skills and English abilities through reading, analyzing, and discussing articles on newsworthy topics.
授業の到達目標
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Critically read news articles in English

2. Intelligently discuss (in English) a variety of current issues and events taking place in Japan and around the world
