Dr. Hirokazu Tamamura

In 1988, Dr. Hirokazu Tamamura was graduated from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University, and then entered Master Course of Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University. In May,1989, he quited the master course halfway and then became an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University, then a Lecture in 1997, and an Associate Professor in 2005 at Kyoto University. In April, 2005, he moved to Tokyo as a full professor at Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University. In the meanwhile, he received Ph. D. of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kyoto University in 1995, and had studied abroad at National Cancer Institute/NIH in 1999-2000. He is the head of Department of Medicinal Chemistry and His research fields are chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, peptide-protein chemistry and organic chemistry. Concerning medicinal chemistry, anti-cancer agents, anti-HIV inhibitors and AIDS vaccines have been developed.
